The Frick Collection – Art Treasures from New York | Mauritshuis, The Hague | 2015
The Frick Collection in the heart of New York for the first time has lent 36 masterpieces to the Mauritshuis in The Hague.
The exhibition design is inspired by the three rooms of The Frick Collection: the ‘West Gallery’ connecting the ‘Oval Room’ with the ‘Enamels Room’ at each side. The atmosphere of the ‘West Gallery’ is evoked by the furnishing and two room dividers creating three rooms. The smaller one accommodates the older collection, whereas the middle part the masterpieces. The third room has a backdrop of the ‘Oval Room’, behind which the film about The Frick Collection is on view. The wall coverings made of textile simulate the New York interior.
In collaboration with Van Rosmalen & Schenk, graphic designers.
