Sakip Sabanci Museum Istanbul and CoBrA Museum for Modern Art Amstelveen commemorated 400 years of diplomatic relations between The Netherlands and Turkey with an exhibition of the works by artists of the CoBRA (Copenhagen- Brussels-Amsterdam) movement from the collections of the ABN Amro Bank and the CoBrA Museum.

Paintings, graphics, photo’s, crafts and film clips illustrated this versatile art period (1948 – 1951). They were introduced by presentations about the time spirit and the artists, both in The Netherlands and in Turkey. The exhibition design was minimalistic on a scale appropriate to tackle this period.
