The Historical Atlas of Schiedam & Pearl on the Nieuwe Maas | St. John’s Church in Schiedam | 2014
This double exhibition shows the rich history of Schiedam based on historical maps, drawings, photographs and paintings.
Schiedam is after World War II a city with a swirling development.
As services are still held in the middle nave of the Great Church, we shielded the exhibition in the aisle off by 6.5 m high banners with the name SCHIEDAM, on a backdrop of a historical drawing. Various details in circles are illustrating different times and events. There are 12 themes that both chronologically and thematically show the rich history of Schiedam. Through audio-visual presentations and a large touch screen table visitors are getting additional information about the city.
